Prayers for Pastorate Family

At our Joint Sunday we were talking about building up the family of God – and also our hopes or wants for our pastorate. I have used the words that were shared to create a prayer for our family.

Please pray with me and us today;

Dear Lord,

We offer up to you these prayers for our family;

We pray for guidance, so we know where we are headed together in our purpose and calling in Huddersfield and Halifax.

We pray for support, that we look to each other, we receive from each other and gather together in daily life.

We pray that we live in community, that we think of what is best for each other, before ourselves and discern God’s plans for all of us.

We pray for more and more understanding in you – so that we spiritually grow together as the body of Christ.

We pray for money and resources that we can have enough to cover day to day running so that we are free to concentrate on action and prayer. We also pray that our money can be used for faithful mission that makes a difference in the name of Jesus.

We pray for plenty of courage and strength to learn, experience and speak about faith, God and our Christian Journey.

We pray for the presence of Kingship in our local churches, in how we witness God and how we share this glory to each other.

We pray for the growth of each church that brings joy, diversity and inclusivity that speaks of God’s people and the beauty of faith.

We pray for the fun of fellowship and food, that allows us to spend time together and get to know one another through cheerfulness and kindness.

We pray for the generosity of people’s time and caring of others.

We pray for patience when we take next steps towards each other and the joint plans we are making.

We pray for renewed trust in our churches, that they will walk with us, that they will love us, and that they are following God for our good.

May this prayer be continually lifted up, all in the name of Jesus.
